Reading : 2 min December 27 2017

Any time of the year is ideal to visit Machu Picchu: to go into the unparalleled adventure of going to the lost city of the Incas and be charged with the best energies accumulated in this ancestral space ingeniously located in the middle of the mountains and the Peruvian jungle.

Depending on the season in which you attend, both the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu will offer you a variety of landscapes, crops and experiences that you will surely never forget.

Particularly this season that is just beginning (from January to April) is the rainy season in Cusco, sacred to locals who are committed to harvesting the best fruits and have rewarding results for their hard work. And although it can be pouring rain at times, the farmers surely appreciate it.

Bimodal Service

During this season, Inca Rail also takes into consideration the necessary measures for our travelers to arrive safely to Machu Picchu.

Due to the rainy season, the railway between Cusco and Ollantaytambo closes, and it is not possible to travel by train from our Poroy station, located 20 minutes from the city of Cusco.

This closure takes place every year between January 2 and April 30, dates in which we enable our Executive Bimodal service, in which we combine Bus and Train transportation to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Pueblo.
