They have to go to the train station located in Ollantaytambo and they end up taking an expensive taxi, or travelling by a bus that may not be the most accessible or comfortable option. For this situation, we present to you our new Executive Bimodal service: one ticket that will provide a bus and train ride from the city of Cusco to Machu Picchu. It is the perfect alternative if you are staying in Cusco and want to visit Machu Picchu for the day.
The adventure commences at San Pedro Station in Cusco. The passengers will board a private bus chartered by Inca Rail and travel to Ollantaytambo. It departs at 4:50 hrs, but the passengers should arrive 20 minutes before departure time. The bus ride is approximately 2 hours long. The travelers will arrive at the private Inca Rail parking, where a tour guide will lead them to the train station.
There, they will board the train that will take them to Machu Picchu station. It is a mystical journey with an approximate duration of 1 hour 40 minutes, where you will enjoy amazing landscapes, including colossal mountains, snowy peaks, and the serpentine Vilcanota river. It is also extraordinary to witness the change in vegetation as one goes deeper into the jungle and leaves behind the highlands ecosystem. After the unforgettable experience that is visiting the ancient citadel, the tour group will return to Machu Picchu station. The train departs at 16:12 hrs, and will go back through the same route it came. The bus will leave you at San Pedro station at 20:20 hrs approximately.
